A small two-bedroomed cottage in Roslin, Midlothian was getting a little too small for the Fletcher family, especially when twins appeared on the scene. The new extension provided an extra two bedrooms, a bathroom and a small conservatory, but also created an exciting new addition to the main street running through this quiet traditional village.

The structure is timber-framed with iroko clad panels to all three elevations and render panels where fire regulations demanded it. The monopitch roof is clad in Sarnafil.

The project was awarded "Highly Commended" in the Midlothian Council Awards for Good Design Design 2004 and was published in the Sunday Herald's magazine in November 2004.
